I was able to go into Sydney's classroom for her birthday. They let her wear a birthday crown, and she stood up in the front of the classroom, while her peers raised their hands to say things they loved about Sydney. It made me so teary eyed... she is a well loved little girl.
Birthday celebrations, ON her birthday included dinner at Red Robin. Sydney picked Red Robin, because she likes birds... haha. She is so cute. She loved the dessert they had there for her birthday. It was huge, and yummy!
Sydney has read a lot of books about ice skating, and has always wanted to go. We decided to surprise her, and take her ice skating for her birthday. This is one of my favorite videos of all time... she was so excited when she found out where we were!
We all had a great time, and wish this rink was closer to our house so we could go more often!
We had a family birthday party the Sunday after Sydney's birthday. We bought her a bike for her birthday, and were so happy that the weather stayed good long this year so she was able to enjoy it before the weather got too cold. She loves this bike. It is perfect for a girl who always wants to carry a doll or stuffed animal around, and for one who loves to collect rocks, sticks, and pinecones. She has a seat for the doll, and a basket for the collections...
She also got a Junie B Jones book about losing teeth, which was so fun for her. She's been reading some Junie B Jones books and has been loving them.
And a carseat for her doll. She has loved bringing her doll along in the car, and carrying her around in her special seat.
The birthday cake I made, fell apart, so I had to remake another one last minute... still turned out pretty cute... Sydney's happy smile definitely makes the cake look cuter though!
