Sydney got to dress up as a cowgirl for a birthday party a couple weeks ago. She absolutely loved it! She kept the whole outfit on, and carried Jessie around all day. We went to IFA to look for a cheap cowboy hat for her and to buy some salt for the water softener, and now when we pass it she always calls it the "cowgirl store." She was very insistent that she had a cowgirl hat on and cowgirl boots. If anyone told her they liked her cowboy boots, she made sure to correct them! We sure love our curly-haired cowgirl!
In other Sydney news, she gave the talk in primary last week, on The Scriptures Teach of Heavenly Father's Plan. She was so excited to give the talk and did a great job. I can't believe how old she is getting! She has had a lot of fun making friends in the ward and neighborhood. It is fun to see her interact with other kids, because she has always had to play by herself so much. She talks about her friends all the time and always looks forward to church and playgroup. I think it will be hard on all of us when the time comes that we have to move! Sydney has quite the imagination. It is fun to hear her play with her toys and carry on full conversations with them! She still loves to call anyone on my phone, and now leaves detailed messages for them if they don't answer. Her message usually sounds something like "Hi Grandma, this is Sydney. Do you want to make cookies, and go to Chick-Fil-A, and eat lunch? Ok? Call me back. Bye!" She and Cooper butt heads quite a bit now, because Cooper has learned the word "no" and isn't into sharing. So Sydney has learned to let him have what he wants more often. And they are both learning valuable lessons in sharing. The other day, Sydney pulled out a blank photo book and made up a story, "reading" it to Cooper. They do enjoy playing together, and Cooper is always following his big sister around the house. It's so fun to watch them become better and better friends!

Cute, cute! Love the cowgirl outfit and stories.
And I have to say, for someone who's Valentine's didn't go as planned, you still have some great pics. :)
But I totally hear you on the over-the-top aspirations for everything. That is me too.
