Happy Easter!

I would have to say that Easter is one of my favorite holidays.  I love that it means spring is coming!  I love that it is always so close to general conference.  I love the spiritual boost that we always get at this time of the year.  Easter has such a special meaning behind it.  I am so grateful for all that Christ has done for us.  I am grateful that he has saved us from both  spritual and physical deaths.  I am grateful for the hope that the resurrection gives us.  It is always easier to have hope at this time of year, which I am grateful for, because there can be so many scary or unsure things that happen in our lives.  I love what President Monson told us in conference, "Your future is only as bright as your faith."  Sometimes it seems so easy to have fear.  But one thing I have learned, is that you can not have faith and fear at the same time.  So I try my best in this tough world when so many loved ones are having challenges, to have faith that everything will work out.  It is hard sometimes for me not to fear, but Easter and conference have given me a boost.  I am grateful for that boost, and I am grateful to know that Christ has gone through all that we have been through.  If we can have faith everything will work out and our future will be bright!

I also love that Easter has so many fun and bright activities that go along with it!  We spent Easter with my family this year and slept at their house.  We had a lot of fun coloring eggs, finding our Easter baskets, having an Easter egg hunt, going to church, having an  Easter lesson that Allie prepared, eating Easter dinner, and spending time together!  We had the opportunity to go to my cousins' ward and hear Elder Packard speak.  It is always such a special experience to be in the presence of an apostle.  I loved hearing his bold testimony of Christ! The spirit was so strong as he bore witness of Him, and it really helped us remember the true meaning of Easter.  Matt and Sydney were lucky enough to shake hands with this great man!  It was also an especially fun Easter for us because Sydney was so interested in all that was going on.  It is so fun to watch her discover the world.  She doesn't take the little things for granted.  When we go outside, she looks at all the little things: the flowers, the dirt, the grass, and she studies it.  She loves this world and it is so fun to see things through her eyes!

Sydney's reaction to the colored Easter eggs... she called them 'balls' at first

The colored eggs...I think we got some pretty good ones!

Sydney's Easter basket!

Sydney's Easter dress and basket...

Allie reading Sydney one of her new books, Sydney just couldn't put the eggs down!  She carried around eggs all day!

Easter egg hunt!  There were some very easy ones for Sydney to find... she loved running around, picking up all the eggs and putting them in her basket!  I think she even took a few eggs from other people's baskets!

Sydney's new chair that grandma and grandpa Holmes gave her!  She loves things that are her size!

We hope that everyone had a wonderful Easter!
