On Sunday, we went outside to take some pictures of our kids in their new Easter clothes. As I look at those pictures, it rings true to my heart that my family is everything to me. Those two little faces and my husband are all I have ever wanted, and being with them is all I will ever want. I am so grateful that because of Christ we can be a family forever. It is the most precious gift I have been given.

Easter Sunday
We had such a wonderful time having fun over the Easter holiday weekend. It would be so easy to overlook the entire reason why we celebrate Easter. I pray that I took enough time to teach my children about the Resurrection of Christ. I want them to know that He Lives, and I want them to know that I know it to be true. I do have a testimony that Christ atoned for our sins, that He died for us, and that He lives again. I had the opportunity to read President Hinckley's talk The Things of Which I Know. It touched my heart, as it did the day I heard him speak.

Easter Festivities
Our Easter weekend was crammed with activities to keep us busy! We participated in a neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt on Friday, which the kids loved. Saturday was busy with LOTS of shopping for Easter dresses, Easter treats, and Easter dinner, as well as baseball games, meeting for lunch, yard work, and dying eggs.
We decided that we needed to use several packages of egg dye this year... look at all those cups! |

Sunday morning the kids woke up to find eggs scattered throughout the house. Sydney was so excited to tell Cooper that the Easter Bunny had come! They had to look for their baskets, which both of them loved doing. Cooper kept finding more and more eggs to carry around. "Egg" and "bunny" have become a permanent part of his vocabulary now! After Easter baskets and breakfast, Sydney and Cooper watched a church movie about Christ visiting the Americas after His resurrection. Then we enjoyed a wonderful Easter Sunday at church. It was nice to have all of the meetings entirely focused on Christ.
"Egg!" |
After church, we went over to my family's house for some Easter dinner and another egg hunt. We had a lot of fun with the egg hunt this year. Only a few of the eggs had candy in them. Most of them had pieces of paper inside, with either a prize, a question, or a challenge written on it. We had fun opening the eggs to find out what we had to do! Some of the challenges were arm wrestling, hopping on one foot, doing the "skip it" and other things. Some of the questions were, "what did you learn in church today," "tell us a favorite memory of Tim, " and "if you could go anywhere in the world where would you go," things like that. Sydney got an egg with a "favorite memory of Tim" and she said "that he thinks of me and that we have friendship bracelets."
