Birthdays

Cooper's and my birthdays were very low key this year.  It was actually very nice to not worry about going above and beyond in celebrating, just keeping everything very simple.  Funny enough, Cooper loved every second of his simple birthday.  All day we kept singing "Happy Birthday" to him.  He loved telling everyone that it was his "Happy Day!" and that he was "two!"  We spent the evening at Nana and Papa's house, where we ate dinner, opened presents, sang, and ate cake.

Perfect form!  Love those cheeks!

Papa's card for Cooper

Nana reading Cooper the books they gave him... he loves them!

We kept telling Cooper to use his fork instead of his hands, so he would pick up the cake with one hand and stick the fork into with his other :)

At the end of the night  Cooper went in to Papa's room to tell him goodnight.  He excitedly told Papa that it was his "Happy Day" and "thank you" for the card and present.  Then Cooper kissed Papa's cheek and held his hand.  I'm so glad that we were able to have Papa here for 2 of Cooper's birthdays!

Since we didn't celebrate Cooper's birthday at all with my family, we had a little combined party for the two of us on my birthday.  Cooper loved opening presents, blowing out candles, and eating cake all over again! It was so fun to be able to celebrate our birthdays together. I loved sharing my cake with Cooper.  We had 29 candles on our cake- 27 for me and 2 for Cooper.  I think we got them all blown out between the two of us... in only one blow for me, and who knows how many for Coop.

Birthdays are always so fun to celebrate, even if they are simple and small.  I'm so glad that we were able to celebrate with those we love.  We really have the best family!
