Talkin'

Cooper is really starting to develop quite the vocabulary.  It's really crazy how it seems to develop overnight.  It is so fun to be able to communicate with him in a new way and to see his little brain work.  The other night Matt was laying Cooper down in his crib for bed.  He handed him his 2 blankets, yes 2, and his puppy.  Cooper kept crying and saying, "Wwiiiiiddddeeee!"  It took a minute, but we finally figured out that he was saying "Woody."  So Matt handed Cooper his Woody doll and took away his puppy.  Cooper continued to cry and said, "Woof!"  Needless to say, Cooper has been sleeping with Widy and Woof every night, as well as his 2 blankets.  He, Woody, his ba-ba, and his little blanket have become inseparable. (At least we don't have to carry Woof and the big blanket with us everywhere too!)

Cooper's First Hair Cut

Cooper's hair has been getting very long, just on the top in the middle though.  When we would try to "do" his hair, it became hard because it was just a long, thin mohawk.  So we decided to give him a hair cut.  We just kind of chopped the top of his mohawk off, so it doesn't look perfect, but much better.  I was actually surprised that I was a little bit sad to be cutting his hair.  It made him seem so big!  (Even though a first hair cut at 18 months for a boy could be a new record!) We didn't cut Sydney's hair for the first time till she was about 3, so I guess it was a little weird for me.  Cooper really is getting so big!

Before:

See how it kind of curls over on the top b/c it's so long...

After:

Looks a lot thicker!

Allie's Birthday

Allie is now officially 15!  Crazy!  We had a fun little birthday party for her, which turned out pretty good with my family moving all weekend before her birthday.  My mom and I have a lot of fun coordinating colors for Allie's birthdays.  Let's face it, girl colors are so much more fun!  We made her a cute cake.  I've been enjoying learning more about making cakes and trying new things, and I think Allie's cake turned out darling, with some help from my mom of course!  My mom always made cute cakes for me when I was young, so she of course is my inspiration for learning how to do cakes.  I am always trying to be more like my mom.  She keeps such a perfect house, and always makes things look so nice.  I remember making Sydney's cake when she turned one, and I wouldn't even attempt it without my mom coming over to help me and teach me.  Thanks mom!  And thanks Allie for having a birthday so we could celebrate!  Love you!

Isn't Allie so pretty?

Close up of the cake... so cute!

St. Paddy's

Since Matt and I both have Irish ancestry I decided we should REALLY celebrate St. Patricks Day.  I didn't have a car to go out and do anything exciting, but spicing up our typical day with a lot of green things made it a fun day and a break from the norm.  We started our day with green shamrock pancakes and green milk!  Yum!

For lunch I cut our regular PB&J's into a clover and used our green dishes...

When we woke up from naps, we found Leprechaun footprints all over our house...

And notes that he left us on these shamrocks.  He led us on a treasure hunt instructing us to look for the shamrocks hidden around our house in the order of the colors of the rainbow.

We ended with purple and found a treasure inside this bag...

We finished the day with some yummy green cupcakes that Grandma made for us!

Other things I loved:  Sydney calling Matt to tell him "Happy Patrick's Birthday!"~ Sydney learning new words like Leprechaun and St. Patricks Day~ Watching Cooper pull Shamrocks off the wall every time he saw one~ and Watching BYU play Wofford... CO COUGARS!

Homework

Usually Matt does all his homework up at the U, but this week he had some extra studying to do.  Sydney thinks "homework" is so fun and wanted to join in, so I got out the markers for her and Cooper to join Matt.  It was fun to watch them all doing homework while I cleaned the kitchen!
